This project involved the design and configuration of a large tensile structure for a wedding celebration. The structure needed to be both functional and elegant, integrating seamlessly into the natural landscape while providing ample shaded space for guests.
Key Considerations:
- Tensile Structure Design: The use of a stretch fabric canopy allowed for a fluid, organic form that adapted to the terrain and created a striking visual effect.
- Modular Configuration: The design combined two tent modules (20m x 15m + 10m x 15m), strategically arranged to accommodate the event's ceremonial and dining areas.
- Structural Elements:
- Multiple support poles of varying heights (4.5m, 5m, 3m) ensured stability and a dynamic roofscape.
- Guy ropes and anchored points maintained the structure's integrity while allowing for an open, column-free space inside.
- Spatial Planning:
- The tent housed long dining tables, aligned symmetrically to foster a communal atmosphere.
- A central space was left open for movement and ceremonial activities.
- The setup maximized views towards the surrounding environment, reinforcing a connection between the guests and the landscape.
This project was both a technical and aesthetic exercise, balancing the structural demands of a temporary tensile pavilion with the atmospheric and festive requirements of an elegant outdoor wedding.
